There are stories out there of Graf Zeppelin crushing everyone in WoWs. You will find that the pattern persists: Kaga does much, much better than Graf Z.Ĭarriers are strike platforms. You can go back to 1st Quarter 2021, 4th Quarter 2020, 3rd Quarter 2020, etc. Not only are there more Kaga players, but she is played more than 3x as much as Graf Zeppelin, and still blows GZ out of the water in actual server performance. What are people doing with these two CVs in question out there? You will find that Kaga > Graf Zeppelin. To back this assessment up are numbers, server stats. Out of the two Kaga is the much better CV.
That makes GZ one of the worst high tier CVs in the game. The only advantage its planes have are that they are very fast, otherwise pretty much all of her ordinance disappoints. GZ has mediocre sustain and hilarious secondary battery performance which as a gimmick for a CV is largely worthless (good for the occasional meme tho). It should be noted that its hull is fairly slow and very fat, if you get into serious trouble with it you're unlikely to escape so plan your moves well in advance. Kaga has the highest sustain out of all high tier CVs thanks to massive starting reserves which makes it highly forgiving to play. In terms of squad types its TBs are decent, HE DBs mediocre and rockets anemic, making it primarily a BB and large cruiser farmer that can have troubles against smaller, more maneuverable ships.
